Historic landmark

Old post office perfectly preserved. We love the atmosphere.

It was very busy in the hotel on Friday with 2 parties going on so for hotel guests like us there was almost no space to relax and have dinner in the hotel.

Meeting Expectations, you can feel that they are focused on hostmanship! Some attention points.

Very friendly service during check-in, breakfast check-in (explaining the buffet), the room itself, very spacious, bedding and a large rain shower is really nice. Also the environment of the bar, restaurant is unique and really interesting. High level of detail provided in everything and a lot of choice during breakfast.

Couple of things: - Breakfast from 10:00 to 11:00 on a Saturday is overcrowded, but especially understaffed. We didn't have a table setup, so just took a table without cutlery etc, that was at least clean. Multiple tables with left overs from other guests were there, and I could really not see traction in those being cleaned. Point of attention for the breakfast manager I would say. - The front door of the hotel is already closed at 11:45 (really early), what follows if you ring the bell is a sort of interrogation by night audit (do you stay at the hotel?, what room are you in? what is your last name?). I do get that these questions would be asked if you were arriving from the bar late night, but not at 11:45.

Exceptional

Its an old post office which has been converted into a beautiful hotel, while keeping the aesthetics in place. Very courteous staff and clean rooms.

The mattress is a little too soft making it uncomfortable.

The best way to enjoy Leeuwarden is to stay at Post Plaza!

Everything here was more than I could have wanted! The staff, the location, the restaurant (delicious!) the service in all of it was impeccable! So much so, that I am hosting an international event here next year. Thank you!

I had to change rooms because the room in the Post building couldn't open windows and had no air conditioning for my menopausal body. We were switched to a bank room, which was simpler, but the windows opened.

Would definitely stay again if I go back to Leeuwarden

Really nice room in a well renovated hotel in what I presume was a former post office. I had my evening meal in the hotel and the food was great and the atmosphere nice for a solo traveller. Really good bar. Best bitterballens I had in the Netherlands.

If I'm being hyper critical the breakfast buffet could have had a wider selection.

Great value for money, excellent service & perfect location.

Perfect location, good size room as well booked the suite for family (actually the suite is for 2 people but can easily fit 3 with extra bed option we chose due to our daughter) which had personal sauna & jacuzzi, staff was very helpful & friendly. Amazing food at the cafe on the menu, we chose breakfast included but was just standard nothing to complain about. The coffee was fantastically delicious, they roast their own beans, we bought some for home as well! The hotel, cafe & room were very clean. Great ambiance at the cafe as well.

We had a great time for 3 nights, parking was 26€ for 3 day in a parking garage not far

Parking is a bit difficult and not next to the hotel. But there is a short time space in front of the hotel to unload or load your car

150m from the hotel is a great Irish Pub with very tasty food! Short distance to the town center and for boat trips

Great hotel with a nice central location and very friendly staff

The room was a very good size with comfy beds. The bathroom was really nice and the shower was great. Plenty of space to put clothes, shoes and coats and had tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Had a small but useful mini-fridge located just below the desk. Lights in the room were fantastic and I never found myself using the main room light as even the smaller bedside lights gave off ample light. The window opened just wide enough to bring in some nice air and the AC was located above the door. It worked a treat and did significantly cool down the room - when I travelled the weather was very hot and humid and the AC was fantastic. The location is great, I travelled to meet a friend who lived in the city and the travel from his house to the hotel was only a 15 minute walk. It was also only a 15 minute walk to and from the train station. Due to it being centrally located you are not far away from shops or tourist attractions. The breakfast was great with the option of getting bacon and scrambled eggs every morning. Plenty of options to choose from with food. Water, Juice, Coffee, Tea and Hot Chocolate were available to drink. The staff were very friendly as always made sure to say Good Morning or Good Evening to you. The rooms were always clean and tidy. Never came back to my room with it having not been cleaned.

Nothing. I wasn't there much of the time as I spent most of my time with my friend walking around the city or hanging out in his place, although any time I was there, there was nothing for me to complain about. If you're going to spend more time in the hotel then you might find things personally you don't like but for me as somewhere I went to sleep, wash and eat breakfast, I found the experience to be very pleasant and always clean and tidy.

The Post-Plaza hotel is the best choice for visiting Leeuwarden

Staff is very friendly, efficient and supportive. The room is modern, the shower is awesome and the beds are the best. Dinner and breakfast was so good, they make fresh french toast (with frisian sugerbread ..... toooo good), scrambled eggs and fried eggs. And the meat platter in the evening, amazing!

We only booked for 1 night ..... you can stay easily a week at this hotel and in this city

Lovely hotel. We loved the Grand Cafe and Restaurant where we shared afternoon tea with some family members. We loved the admosphere. Dutch Cuisine dinner in the evening was delicious!

Short stay at Post-Plaza Hotel!

Lovely short stay at Post-Plaza Hotel for our very first time in Leeuwarden. The hotel was perfectly located in the center of town, the room was very nice and spacious with an (unexpected) enormous terrace, a comfortable bed and good shower. We had a delicious dinner in the hotel restaurant and later in the evening we had a drink in the bar and enjoyed a singer performance. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, instead we enjoyed a very good one at Bakker Bart.

Can't wait to return!

We loved this hotel! It was beautifully designed, comfortable and in a great location. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well here. The breakfast was an additional cost, but definitely worth it. The fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh bread were highlights. They have a room off the receptions with a fireplace and games that we enjoyed visiting. The hotel was quiet and we didn't hear other travelers when in our rooms. The location was perfect with so many choices of things to do (museums, shopping, restaurants!) and see right outside the door. You didn't have to ever drive anywhere. I am already thinking about returning here and bringing friends.

The hotel doesn't offer parking but did send us to an underground parking lot that was a 5 minute walk. This is fine is summer, but a little unpleasant in cold rainy weather. The parking lot only cost 10 Euros per day, so it was a great option.

Excellent stay. Nice, clean room, great dinner/breakfast facility. Check-in and check-out subpar.

Overall experience. Bar and breakfast room excellent!

Check-in and check-out. Too long lines, had to wait forever. On check-out I put down my keycard at the reception desk, because it took too long, very inefficient. I got then a phone call if my credit card could be used. Of course, because that was why I presented it the previous day on check-in. Your check-in and check-out process is archaic, check-out is irrelevant, just let people put theit key in a box.
